Sinning it up in Vegas!

I went last weekend to Las Vegas to visit my friend, Jen Sanders. Jen and I were roommates during our Portland days. We hadn't seen each other for nine years, but it felt like it had just been yesterday. I love good friends like that! We spent a day hanging out at home making crafts and getting caught up. We did after school things with her and Dave's 8 year old daughter, Olivia. We went for a drive through Red Rock Canyon and went for a night out on the town. I also got to see a friend from high school while I was there.

Olivia called me 'Miss Ruthie' to my face. But she referred to me as 'Your Roommate' to her mom. I had a really great time staying with Go Team Sanders. They are good people. Here are some pics from my adventures. Be forewarned...these are pictures from Vegas so some of them are X-Rated and others are a tad scandalous.
Sorry, no pics of downtown Vegas. It's not that fabulous.

After seeing it, I believe Red Rock Canyon was named appropriately.

A hearty, survivor tree.

My new favorite beer! Who says you can't like a beer for it's label? Somewhere in Utah is a beer maker who has a sense of humor I appreciate! Too bad it's not sold in WA. I brought two empty bottles home though. It's nice to have funny things to look at around the house for days when you just need a laugh.

Together with Amy Cahoon Christensen. We've been friends since high school...and probably hadn't seen each other in at least 15 years!

We ate at a taco place near a strip mall with an interesting variety of shops.

Random man at Olivia's school wearing all black and amazingly bright pink shoes.

Jen picking Olivia and her friend up from school. They made Christmas trees that day.
A trip to Vegas is not complete without a visit to The Strip.
New York.

Jen and I at the Grand Canyon.

So right in the middle of a bunch of innocent T-shirts, magnets, mugs, shot glasses and whatnot was a shelf with Adult themed stuff.  All I have to say about these 'suckers' is No, No, and Hell No. The only positive thing is the safety plastic wrap.

Kahlua Colada...yum!

One sip is all it takes...

We ate dinner at a cafe in Monte Carlo. This is all that's left.

This doesn't show the tacky Ross Dress For Less store that is right next door and has a giant, blue sign.

I'm listening.

Fancy.

The Eiffel Tower.

I think I'd feel sexy if I ate at Fat Burger and then went to see Thunder Down Under.

You can't see it, but the M&M store is over there as well as the store I bought a T-shirt at.

A cool wall fountain.

A Chihuly exhibit.

Sounds good to me.

The exterior of the Monte Carlo where we ate dinner.

Because throwing my money away is so fun! We spent a combined total of $3 and got vouchers for 70 cents.

It was over before I knew it. Thanks, Jen, Dave and Olivia for a fun time! I can't wait for my next stay with Go Team Sanders!
